About

“Romance stories aren’t about love; they show human relationships.”

I overheard the above quote in a busy Waterstones, and it’s stuck with me ever since. The stigma surrounding romance books is that they’re frivolous and shallow. That might be true for some rom-coms (and so what?), but it disregards stories that portray the most challenging aspects of relationships.

There’s more to the romance genre than meet-cutes and happy endings. This blog is to show off and share the romance books that I, the lovesick critic, find to be the most thought-provoking and engrossing, where each page has the potential to make you think, laugh, or cry.

The reviews highlight the author’s writing style to help readers find stories that are not only enthralling but match their preferences too.
